Venison Stroganoff – Low Carb, Keto, GF

This publish is backed by Bolner’s Fiesta Brand.

Venison Stroganoff is my thought of the easiest convenience food!  Hearty, stick to your ribs, stuffed with superb flavor, comfort food.  This version uses venison as a substitute of the usual beef but still has all of the superb flavors of a traditional stroganoff!  Perfectly low carb, keto pleasant and gluten loose…served over a mattress of mashed turnips…absolute HEAVEN!

Growing up, the most efficient part of my birthday was once I at all times got to select what meal I wanted for dinner and year after year I at all times chose the same thing…stroganoff.  My Grandpas birthday was the day after mine and ceaselessly we celebrated together and stroganoff used to be one among his favorites…WIN WIN!  The wealthy, savory mixture of red meat and mushrooms…a little bit tang from the wine and that bitter cream sauce…LORD!  In our area it used to be always served over egg noodles, but the traditional Russian model is normally served over potatoes, which is my favorite option to enjoy it…it must be the Polish in me!  So to stay the carbs at the low facet I selected  to pair this venison stroganoff with my creamy, dreamy mashed turnips!  You may also serve it on a mattress of buttered cauliflower rice or even check out some fathead or zucchini noodles!

The magic of the deep beefy, savory taste of stroganoff is all within the browning of the beef and the mushrooms.  That golden crust at the outside of the meat and the mushrooms give wonderful wealthy flavor to the sauce!  Paprika lends great taste and color to this sauce and is fashionable in Eastern European dishes.  Paprika can vary in taste from delicate and candy to highly spiced sizzling! In this venison stroganoff I exploit a mild sweet paprika. Make positive to use good quality spice for the most productive consequence!  Check out Fiesta Brand Spices right here!  There’re spices are a staple in my kitchen, are all the time contemporary, reasonably priced and feature amazing quality!

I’ve observed a number of different versions of stroganoff and plenty of of them use premium cuts of red meat like a filet.  Since I’m using venison, I selected to use stew meat that’s typically minimize from the hams and different tougher spaces.  First of all, venison is super lean, so the use of a tenderloin or loin tends to dry out too much when cooked fully within the sauce….save the ones yummy cuts for pan searing or grilling!  I like to make use of the stew meat as it tends to have just a little extra fat and these little morsels get soft as they simmer within the sauce as opposed to drying out.   Even in my red meat version, I love the use of stew meat, it just has nice taste…so if you don’t have venison you'll sub red meat or even beef, it'll nonetheless be wonderful!

Venison Stroganoff is a hearty, comforting, low carb, keto pleasant meal that the entire circle of relatives will love!  Tender, flavorful venison slow simmered in a savory mushroom and completed with sour cream and just a little cream cheese for additonal creaminess and tang…this dish is a winner!  Cowboy and kid licensed!
